National Plant Solutions at iaf 2025: Driving the Future of Rail Innovation in Münster
We were proud to attend iaf 2025, the world’s leading trade fair for track technology, held from 20–22 May in the vibrant city of Münster, Germany. This year’s theme, “Track to the Future,” couldn’t have been more fitting, as innovators, engineers, and industry leaders gathered to showcase cutting-edge solutions shaping the future of railway construction and maintenance.
A Global Stage for Track Technology
The 29th International Exhibition for Track Technology (iaf) brought together more than 15,000 visitors from over 60 countries, and over 180 exhibitors from 16 nations. From software and sustainability to large-scale machinery and infrastructure upgrades, iaf offered an unparalleled look into the future of rail systems.
Spread across 12,000 m² of indoor space, 5,800 m² of outdoor displays, and more than 3,000 metres of live rail track at the Münster-Ost station, the event was nothing short of impressive. The exhibition truly captured the scale and complexity of modern track technologies in action.
A Focus on Digitalisation and Sustainability
At National Plant Solutions, we’re deeply aligned with the industry’s move towards smarter, greener infrastructure. It was encouraging to see a strong emphasis at iaf 2025 on:
Digitalisation of railway infrastructure
CO₂ reduction and sustainability
Securing skilled labour for the future
Expansion and reactivation of railway lines
These priorities are central to our own mission to support forward-thinking track construction and plant solutions across the UK and beyond.
Münster: The Ideal Host City
Münster once again proved to be an excellent host. With the Messe und Congress Centrum Halle Münsterland located directly on the WLE rail network, the logistics of showcasing working machines and track systems couldn’t have been smoother. Local hospitality and high-quality facilities helped make this a standout experience for exhibitors and attendees alike.
Looking Ahead
Our team came away inspired and energised from the conversations, demonstrations, and connections made at iaf 2025. We’re excited to take what we’ve learned and continue providing industry-leading equipment and expertise to rail infrastructure projects throughout the UK.
We’d like to thank all the organisers, exhibitors, and visitors who made this event a success—and we look forward to returning for future exhibitions as part of the global rail technology community.
